What happens if I sneeze or wiggle during the surgery?

Nothing. The SmartSight technology gently suctions onto the eye ('docking'). If movement is too strong, the laser automatically shuts off.

How long will I be unable to work?

Plan 1-2 days. If you come on Friday, you will be fully operational in the office again on Monday. Home office is often possible after 24 hours.

No. The eye is numbed by drops. You will only feel a slight pressure for about 20 seconds when the laser docks.

What is the difference to LASIK?

The principle: Keyhole instead of large incision

In contrast to classic LASIK, SmartSight does not cut a flap (large corneal flap). The high-precision SCHWIND ATOS laser forms a wafer-thin tissue disc (lenticule) inside the cornea. This is removed through a tiny opening (approx. 2 mm).
